Light Sheer Laser
The Procedure
Laser hair removal is the most effective solution to permanently remove and/or reduce unwanted hair. The laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles (the very bottom of the hair shaft). With each treatment, a certain number of hair follicles are killed so that the hair will not regrow in that hair follicle. Approximately, twenty percent of all hairs treated will be killed per session. It is important to note that this varies with each person.
What types of Hair Does the Laser Work On?
The hair laser works best on dark, coarse hair. It does not work on red or blond hair or very fine hair. How Many Treatments are Needed? On average, about six to nine treatments will be needed per area. Some areas typically take more treatments (face) and some areas typically take fewer treatments (bikini area) to achieve results. It takes three treatments before noticeable improvement can be seen.
What Can You Expect?
The length of a laser treatment may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated. The laser treatment itself may cause some discomfort. Topical anesthetic can be applied beforehand if desired.
