Intense Pulsed Light™
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) skin treatments, using the photo rejuvenation process, represents a breakthrough in age-defying skin care. This new technique for skin care treats skin damage – there is no disruption of the skin's epidermal surface. Intense Pulsed Light treatments address the effects of photoaging and sun damage with low risk of complications and no recovery time. Intense Pulsed Light is the "gold standard" for photorejuvenation. It produces global improvement in several areas of photoaging especially irregular dark pigmentation and blood vessels or noninvasive improvement in brown and red discoloration of the skin. This FDA-cleared, patented technology provides dramatic results for blemished skin.
Fraxel is a non-invasive laser therapy providing a wide array of treatment options to address many forms of aging, customized to each patient's needs and concerns, many requiring minimal recovery time. Fraxel is the pioneer of "fractional photothermolysis," a technology in which thousands of microscopic laser columns - each just one-tenth the diameter of a hair follicle - treat a fraction of the skin at a time without affecting the surrounding tissue. These laser columns stimulate the production of younger, smoother, healthier skin to replace damaged tissue.
People often think about what they can do to improve the appearance of their skin. With time, skin may develop different coloring, particularly red, and patients may not realize that this can be corrected.
The VBeam Perfecta pulsed dye laser is excellent for anyone who has an area or a spot that is red due to blood. Broken blood vessels on the cheeks, nose, and chin are also excellent candidates for VBeam treatment. Red spots that people develop on the trunk of the body, known as cherry angiomas, are also terrific candidates.
Additionally, red scars, spider angiomas, mottling of the neck, and red stretch marks are good candidates for VBeam. Thick scars can also be terrific candidates for flattening, remodeling, or softening with the VBeam.
The Vbeam works by selectively heating only the most superficial blood vessels in the skin and causing them to disappear. The yellow laser light produced by the device only heats blood and does not heat the rest of the skin. As a result, bruising can sometimes occur, but this is not permanent and bruising will likely mean a better result. However, bruising is not always necessary for great results. It is not very painful, and it does not require numbing creams prior to the treatment.
