CoolTouch® Lasers used by Total Skin & BeautyAbout the Cool Touch Laser
CoolTouch SE Laser and CoolTouch II Laser provide a delivery system for both the aiming and treatment of laser beams. The CoolTouch Laser also provides the means to cool the treatment site to protect the epidermis and provide and analgesic effect for the patient. By incorporating an infrared detector by the CoolTouch Lasers, which is aimed on the treatment site, it assists the operator in setting treatment parameters.
CoolTouch Laser Delivery
The aiming and treatment of laser beams by the CoolTouch Laser are delivered to the treatment site via a fiber optic cable and lens configuration. The CoolTouch Laser's laser beam exits the handpiece through the lens approximately 32mm from the treatment site. A footplate that is held in contact with the treatment site maintains the spot size at 10mm and provdies a guide for the operator to
visualize the treatment.
CoolTouch Thermal DetectionA temperature sensor is incorporated into the CoolTouch Laser handpiece to measure surface skin temperature in order to select the appropriate fluence which will provide the optimum clinical results. Fluence must be adjusted in the CoolTouch Laser for every treatment based on the starting surface temperature of the area being treated.
CoolTouch Cooling
The CoolTouch Laser handpiece provides cooling by delivering an application of cryogen, carried on board in a disposable container, to the treatment site. This cooling by the CoolTouch Laser protects the epidermis and provides a soothing analgesic effect for the patient. Delivery of cooling by the CoolTouch Laser may occur either before the laser fires (pre-cooling) or after the laser fires.
